Avengers Doomsday - New Trailer Drop & Infintiy Vision Tickets

They just dropped the new Doomsday trailer : Super stoked for this since it's been pretty disappointing since Infintiy War. That being said, I'm trying to manage expectations. It's interesting to hear RDJ's voice for Doom 🤔 They're promoting tickets sales for 'Infinity Vision' cause apparently Dune 3 has all the IMAX screenings locked up. I haven't read up on what Infintiy Vision differences are. With X-men and Sentinels... Can this movie possibly live up to the hype?

Marvel laid off a lot of their staff recently. I don’t have high hopes. They’ve got no new ideas and are rehashing/retconning old storylines. The original Dr Doom was a fine story. Marvel chose to make it into a star vehicle for RDJ. RDJ doesn’t have the gravitas to be a proper Doom. They’re promoting the heck out of this because they’re desperate. And parent Disney is hemorrhaging too. The Acolyte and Fett crapfests each cost hundreds of millions.

Infinity Vision seems to be a bit of a rebrand for some of the bigger screens out there, like the DBOX screens at Cineplex and the best screens at Landmark because IMAX is tied up and they don't want to lose the holiday window entirely. It's a total marketing gimmick and won't add much to the experience would be my guess but I am a cynic who gave up on Marvel a long time ago. Disney is shitting the bed all over the place, no one wants a live action Moana or Lilo and Stitch but they are completely out of ideas and rehashing the hits from the past is about all they can muster these days. They must have given RDJ and Chris Evans a shit ton of money to come back to try to rekindle some old magic.

Robert Downey Jr. is reportedly earning over $100 million to play Doctor Doom across both Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. His massive deal also includes extensive perks such as private jet travel, a dedicated security team, an entire trailer encampment on set, and significant backend box-office bonuses. Cap is getting around 35mill and back end bonuses

This will need to make a billion to make money and I hope it tanks like the rest of the recent marvel slop. Can't blame him for taking the money, but he's already got hundreds of millions, why bother?

I would say that avengers end game was so over the top and its really hard to surpass it. Moreover, Disney messed up almost all of my fav characters. Whatever they did to Hulk and Thor to normalise them, just pissed of fans. I am not sure if they would be able to bring the magic back on those characters with more focus on inclusion rather than story, direction etc.

I think the best marvel characters I have seen were the ones done by Netflix for Daredevil, the Defenders and the Punisher. They took time to develop the characters (yes the story line was slow at first)... The problem is taking the basic story lines written in the 1940-70s, and trying to put the woke morals of today in. The 50s is Hero kill bad guy. Today the bad guy is caught and punished, and if he repents come back worse after not really punished at all....

Would've been a cool year to be in Hall H Ryan Reynolds walking the floor was pretty funny. And Im looking forward to Gosling as Ghostrider.... Then again, I was looking fwd to Ali as Blade many moons ago too 😢
