Cloudflare delay ???

avatar rlock 2019-05-03 20:25

I keep getting a message from Cloudflare when I load / refresh the main forum page today. And PERB seems to load slowly in general today. What's the deal with that? Is this "DDOS protection" something the site is doing, or is it possibly on my end? (Shouldn't be on my end though - nothing has changed since yesterday when I was also looking with the same browser & everything else.)

I’ve had the same problem all day, it’s annoying.

Yup me too....I thought it was my satellite acting up again.

I'm getting it too. Today was the first time I've ever seen this Cloudflare thing. It comes up with a message saying that it's checking my browser before connecting to PERB. It takes way too long to connect to PERB; sometimes so long that my browser times out the connection.

Me too... I have never seen this one before.. It showed up yesterday... At first Scary cuz I dislike popups (things that go bump in the night) the disrupt my train of thought. Google search suggests (I think) it is on the server for the website your viewing. Nice... to know but annoying. Edit Further research Perb.cc is hosted by godaddy on "Burt.ns.cloudfare.com

i am having the same problem, error 522 from cloudflare, blames it on your server. It has been happenning for a few days now and keeps knocking me off! Really annoying...

avatar islander1-1 2019-05-04 16:24

Yep Really really annoying Then perb was down period. Cloudfare ok... but perb error.

avatar Kikoolol 2019-05-04 17:51

This shows up when there are too many requests made to the website in order to try to bring in down (ddos attack, distributed denial of service)

avatar jgg 2019-05-04 20:46

CAF had the same problem maybe a year ago. Somebody with too much time.

avatar lukom 2019-05-05 06:16

Shemale Canada seems to have been completely taken down due to what appears to be an attack. Not sure if someone is trying the same on perb as well

I've been getting this for a past 2mnths.. randomly... but sometimes perb locks up on phone...with gateway screen message... hopefully it will be sorted out soon..

avatar Bobert1969 2019-05-05 17:50

If you have this problem you can Google search "cloudfare and perb" and it'll bring up pages on the forum that aren't closed without a login and you can get normal access that way. I think most people type in "perb.cc" and this takes you to the main page which is the one having the big problem. The work around I outlined gets you in the back door so bookmark it once you're in till the problem goes away.

San Francisco based Cloudflare's services sit between the visitor and the Cloudflare user's hosting provider, acting as a reverse proxy for websites. Do Perb users want a jurisdiction that may be hostile to Perb interests sitting between them and the Quebec based server?

This was my concern after it went on for a few days, that either PERB was being attacked, or maybe that Cloudflare was suddenly blacklisting it for legal reasons. I still got the cloudflare message today, but was able to log in at least this one time.

We turned that browser check feature on ourselves. Testing new back end settings.

I still get it, but it only seems to pop up, while I'm using private windows. Like when I use muy I phone and search " incognito ". The same on my Mac book, when I open a new private window. I opened a regular window last night and it never popped up. This only started for me on Friday.

Cloudfare delay still showing up and after a few minutes not being active on Perb, it logs me off and I have to again sign back in. FYI.
