I don't know if it's in any of the clients' best interest to post their workplace/identity publicly on perb. As you had said, they can name their occupation and we can DM them if they're cool with it all. It may still link their perb ID to their legal name even just in DMs. I'd advise caution to anyone who hasn't thought that far yet 🙏 Please consider yourselves and your safety first.

I went with the bare bones of profession or industry for discretion, and find it interesting how often I’m asked for my real name, my gym, etc, in ongoing intervals, but messaging for professional services is putting the men at risk…… By contrast, wouldn’t every lady have the possibility of being “outed” because the Perb servers aren’t going to be more discrete for either sex? Am I understanding correctly that you are warning people from messaging other users because DM’s may still link your ID to your name? With that said, we are not without consequence given we develop and maintain an alternate identity (so we aren’t followed home by that 1%, or encounter professional stigma/termination at conventional employment (let alone endangerment if fleeing an abusive situation). It is in every ladies best interest to not have her info revealed as well, and she should be the guardian of your personal info if you do give it. Not every provider is and that is a crying shame for both sides. I will always view and make decisions with it as a “You protect me, I don’t protect you” type of thing. I was thinking along of the lines of well-meaning perb members publicly posting their company websites 😂 It may sound silly, but I know some people who would happily jump in to help and completely forget basic caution for themselves! I'm warning them so they don't accidentally doxx their public identity in this particular way.
